Set on the edge of the Chilterns, this once ancient settlement has developed over recent years into a busy up-to-date village. There are several listed buildings and an 18th century Manor, now part of the Oratory School, also a Victorian flint church that retains some of its Norman origins. There are two public houses and many countryside and woodland walks. The top of the village is one of the highest points in the Chiltern Hills.
