Lying at the foot of Hagbourne Hill on the edge of the Berkshire Downs, this small farming village still retains its quiet rural character. Ducks and Moorhens on the village pond continue to delight successive generations of children, whilst the memorial seat below the chestnut tree in the square provides respite for country walkers. The village is dotted with picturesque thatched cottages and several farmhouses. The oldest, York Farm, is one of the earliest examples of a complete timber-framed house to survive in England today.
'Windsor Hakebourne: The Story of West Hagbourne' was published in the year 2000 by the Village History Group.
