At the centre of this village, on the Ridgeway, is the church, an early English building although much restored in the 1850s. The font dates from the 14th century and also of interest is the elaborate monument of 1659 to Griffith Higgs who was chaplain to the Queen of Bohemia. The village street has several cottages dating from the 17th and 18th century.
