Highmoor and Highmoor Cross form a scattered community high in the beautful countryside on the South-West edge of the Chiltern Hills. An ideal centre for starting walks across Highmoor Common, Oxlands Bottom and Highmoor Trench. The small, pretty Victorian church of St. Paul's dates from 1859. Situated near the church adjacent to the B481 is Highmoor Well. Sunk in 1865 to a depth of 284 feet it is covered by a small hexagonal well house.
