Set around the village green and along a wide grass-verged street in Great Milton are many 16th and 17th century houses including the Bull Inn, built in 1684. Notable houses include the Priory, the Great House, Romeyn's court, Monkery Farm and the Manor House (dating from the 17th century which is now the famous restaurant and hotel Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.
Several of these houses started life as Elizabethan farmhouses, but were later developed into much grander buildings. The church of St Mary's, in Norman and early English style, has find Tudor roofs and one of the oldest clocks in Oxfordshire.
