Goring Heath

Set on the southern edge of the Chilterns, the scattered parish of Goring Heath has a number of small hamlets. These include Crays Pond, Whitchurch Hill and Shirvells Hill, which are set in beautiful countryside with occasional views to Windsor or to the Oxford Vale and beyond.

Of particular interest are the Goring Heath Almshouses, founded in 1726 by Henry Alnutt, a Lord Mayor of London. The Almshouses, together with a former Victorian school, are set around three sides of a square with a chapel in the centre of the cobbled courtyard.
