An unspoilt village with magical views overlooking Otmoor; Beckley is also a lively modern day village for those who wish to preserve the old village values with modern day life. Today Beckley has a wonderful community spirit with numerous group activities for those who wish to take part. The novelists Charles Dodgson (better known as Lewis Carroll) and R.D.Blackmore who both used scenes and local activities in their books, its ancient Church, dating back to the early 14th century with its Norman font (circa 1200) and wall paintings and the lovely country walks all add to the uniqueness of Beckley.
