Mentioned in the Domesday Book and the name probably derived from the Saxon term for a meeting place, Albury has a church rebuilt in 1830 in the Perpendicular style by Thomas Rickman. The Romanesque font with zigzag ornamentation is all that remains from the original building. Situated on the Oxfordshire Way, the hamlet is astride a ridge giving spectacular views over the Vale of Aylesbury. Church Farm now houses a number of business units.
