Adwell, a parish near the Chiltern Hills. Adwell Cop is an ancient entrenchment supposed to have been constructed by the Danes when they burnt Oxford in 1010. The church, a building of flint and stone in mixed styles, was restored very thoroughly in 1865. Adwell House is the seat of the Reynardson family.
