Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the works hereby permitted shall be begun before the expiration of
five years from the date of this consent.
Reason: By virtue of Section 18 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and
Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
That before any work is undertaken in pursuance of this consent, such
steps shall be taken and such works shall be carried out to secure the
safety and stability of the building during the alterations, and to
provide protection for the building against the weather during the
progress of the works.
Reason: To secure the safety and protection of the listed building.
That no works shall commence until there has been submitted to and
approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority a detailed schedule
of works of cleaning, repairs, restoration and alterations to both the
exterior and interior (on a room by room basis) of the Mansion House,
including drawings where appropriate; and the cleaning, repairs,
restoration and alterations shall be carried out in accordance with an
approved schedule of works.
Reason: To safeguard the architectural and historic character and
appearance of the listed building.
That no works shall commence until a record of the Mansion House has
been undertaken by an archaeologist/building recorder or organisation
with acknowledged experience in the recording of standing buildings
and presented in a form which has been submitted to and approved in
writing by the Local Planning Authority.
Reason: The building is of archaeological/historical importance.
That no works shall commence until there has been submitted to and
approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority a schedule of
materials, brick bonding and finishes, including samples, for the
external construction and works of making good. The materials, brick
bonding and finishes used shall be in accordance with an approved
schedule.
Reason: To safeguard the architectural and historic character and
appearance of the listed building and to ensure that the details
of the works are satisfactory.
That no works shall commence until a detailed specification of the type,
design and finish of all new windows, rooflights, internal and external
doors, external ventilation and rainwater goods has been submitted to
and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority; and the
windows, rooflights, internal and external doors, external
ventilation and rainwater goods shall be installed in accordance with an
approved specification.
Reason: To safeguard the architectural and historic character and
appearance of the listed building and to ensure that the
details of the works are satisfactory.
That no works shall commence until there has been submitted to and
approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority a detailed
specification of the means of access along the tunnel between the Mansion
House and the underground garage; and the means of access along the
tunnel shall be provided in accordance with an approved specification.
Reason: To ensure that the details of the works are satisfactory.
