Listed Building Consent on 11th March 2025
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The works hereby permitted must be begun not later than 7 months from the date of this consent.
Reason: To comply with the provisions of section 18(1) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 as amended by section 51 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
That the works hereby approved shall be carried out in accordance with the submitted drawings and as detailed within the supporting statement 'Design and Heritage Statement' and additional statement 'Specification and order of works' dated 28 February 2025 except as controlled or modified by conditions of this consent.
Reason: To secure the proper planning of the historic environment in accordance with Development Plan policies.
That at the expiration of a period of 25 years from the date of this listed building consent, the roof of the building shall be reinstated in long straw thatch, or a further application shall be made for the retention and renewal of reed or other covering.
Reason: Water reed is not consistent with the local tradition of long straw but in the absence of long straw availability a reed covering is a suitable temporary covering that will safeguard the listed building from deterioration in accordance with Policy ENV7 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2035.
