Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 24th November 2023
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the scale, massing and design of the proposed extensions and their relationship to the original and surrounding buildings, the proposal represents an overdevelopment of the site and a poor form of design that is out of keeping with the character and original proportions of 6 Oakley Lane and fails to respect the prevailing character of this part of the street. The proposal is contrary to Policy CH C1 of the Chinnor Neighbourhood Plan Review II, policies DES1 and DES2 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2035, and the advice in the Joint Design Guide.
That, having regard to the size, height and depth of the proposed extensions and their position in relation to neighbouring properties the proposal represents an unneighbourly form of development that would harm the amenities of occupiers of neighbouring properties by way of being overbearing and resulting in a loss of light to habitable rooms. The proposal is contrary to Policy CH C1 of the Chinnor Neighbourhood Plan Review II, Policy DES6 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2035, and the advice in the Joint Design Guide.
