Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 14th September 2020
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That particularly having regard to its size and siting to the boundary of the property to the east; The Bungalow, the proposed single storey side extension would have an overbearing and oppressive effect upon that neighbouring property and the development would be intrusive and unneighbourly and be detrimental to the amenity of occupants of that property. The development would be contrary to Policy CSQ3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy 2027, policies G2 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and Policy CNP H7 of the Cholsey Neighbourhood Plan.
That the proposed extensions are, particularly by reason of its size and flat roof, represent overdevelopment of the original dwelling with a loss of overall character and appearance of the existing property. The design, and fenestration detailing would be out of keeping with the character of existing dwelling and traditional development in the wider area and be detrimental to the visual amenity of the street scene. The development would be contrary to Policy CSQ3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy 2027, policies G2 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and Policy CNP H7 of the Cholsey Neighbourhood Plan.
