Conditions / Refusal Reasons
Having regard to the inappropriate scale and siting of the proposed dwelling and associated outbuildings, together with their overly domestic design, the District Council Considers that the proposal would have an unacceptable urbanising impact upon the open informal rural character of the site, which lies outside the built-up limits of Lewknor. By contrast to the extant prior approval scheme, this development would cause material harm to the character and appearance of the surrounding rural landscape and it would be out-of-keeping with the local vernacular. As such, the proposal is contrary to Policies CSEN1 and CSQ3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy 2027, Saved Polices D1, G2 and H4 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and Paragraphs 79, 83, 124 and 130 of the National Planning Policy Framework
