That, having regard to the height of the extension and the excessive bulk and depth created along the south west elevation, the proposal represents a dominant and incongruous addition which detracts from the character of the existing building fails to reinforce local distinctiveness and would be detrimental to the visual amenity of the locality. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, particularly policies G2, G6, D1 and H13 and to the advice in the adopted South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
