Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the small-scale and simple design of the original dwelling, the proposed extensions and garage, by reason of their excessive size, bulk and inappropriate and incoherent design details, would appear unsympathetic and incongruous and would be harmful to the established character of the dwelling contrary to Policies C2, G2, G6, D1 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and the provisions of Section 4.6 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
That, having regard to the prominence of the dwelling when viewed from Reading Road, the proposals would be detrimental to the character of the locality and the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The development would therefore be contrary to Policies C2, G2, G6, D1 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and the provisions of the adopted South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
