That having regard to its massing and scale, the proposal would fail to respect the character, appearance and proportions of the semi detached building, and would detract from the the appearance of the surrounding residential area. As such, the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, G8 and H12 and the South Oxfordshire Local Plan (Second Deposit) Draft, particularly policies G2, G6 and H13 and advice contained within the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
